The state Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Tuesday said that there is no substitute for blood donation to fulfill social responsibility.

Chowdhury was speaking at a blood donation camp and anti-drug workshop organized by Tripura Central University NSS unit on Tuesday. He said that through blood donation one can come forward for the welfare of the country and humanity as well.

The new generation has to build their career as well as prepare themselves as responsible citizens, said the sports minister, adding that the role of parents is very important in this regard.

He added that it is not possible to produce blood artificially. Therefore, it is entirely up to the blood donors to donate blood and meet the demand. The minister urged the students to come forward and donate blood voluntarily.

He further said that the present youth society should stay away from any kind of drug addiction. In this case, the people of the state must come forward.
