Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha today said that there is no greater gift than donating blood and donating blood also creates a unique feeling in the blood donors.
Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the Blood Donation Camp organized by Spandan Social Organization at Agartala Press Club today.
He initially met with blood donors and encouraged them. The Chief Minister said that blood donors do not have any caste, religion, gender or political color. Donating blood reminds us that we are all one. Human service is our religion.
He expressed the opinion that it is possible to build an Ek Tripura Srestha Tripura and the Prime Minister's announcement of Sabka Saath Sarka Vikas Sabka Biswas only through human service work.
The Chief Minister said that the way the people of the state have come forward to donate blood has turned blood donation into a public awakening. He said that everyone should play an active role against addiction. The government will always stand by those who come forward to build a healthy and beautiful society. The Chief Minister also laid emphasis on more women coming forward in blood donation camps.
At the blood donation camp, the Mayor of AMC Dipak Majumder said that people have accepted blood donation as a social responsibility and duty. Debashis Chakraborty, chairperson of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan also spoke. Chitra Roy, president of the Spandan Social Organization, gave the welcome address. Secretary of the organization Haimanti Bhattacharya gave a speech of thanks. 55 people donated blood in the camp.
