On Tuesday, the ISRO said: "The orbit-raising maneuver (Earth-bound perigee firing) is performed successfully from ISTRAC/ISRO, Bengaluru. The spacecraft is expected to attain an orbit of 127609 km x 236 km. The achieved orbit will be confirmed after the observations."

The 73 days of penance has been rewarded with the successful orbiting of Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft by India's heavy lift rocket LVM3, said a senior official of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

Speaking after the launch Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman S.Somanath ssaid that, “Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft has started its journey towards the moon. The LVM3 rocket orbited the spacecraft precisely at the intended orbit.”
