A five-year-old girl was raped and murdered on the outskirts of Hyderabad and a 60-year-old migrant worker from Bihar has been arrested for the gruesome crime, police said on Wednesday.

He agrees with Justice Bhat that a gender-neutral interpretation of the Special Marriage Act may not be equitable at times and can result in women being exposed to vulnerabilities in an unintended manner.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday adjourned, to October 19, the hearing on the bail petition of TDP supremo and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the Skill Development Corporation scam case.

Naidu and other leaders of the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) were booked for attempt to murder by the police in connection with the violent incidents that occurred in Angallu village in Annamaya district on August 4.

The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) produced former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu before the ACB Court here on Sunday morning, 24 hours after he was arrested in the Skill Development Corporation 'scam' case.

He was leaving for Vijayawada to meet Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who has been arrested by the Andhra Pradesh CID in connection with the Skill Development Corporation scam. 

The BJP on Saturday condemned the arrest of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in a corruption case.

While being arrested by the state CID under the Prevention of Corruption Act in in Nandyal district, Naidu maintained that “the authorities are not showing evidence of prima facie wrongdoing or involvement in the case".

In a major development, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu was arrested on Saturday in Nandyal district by the state police's Crime Investigation Department (CID) in connection with the Skill Development Corporation corruption case.

On Thursday, the price in Pyapili market in Nandyal district dropped to Rs 3 a kg. Realising that by selling tomatoes at such a low price they will not be able to recover labour and transport charges, farmers dumped them on roads or in open areas in the villages. 

In a shocking incident, two youths, including a Dalit, were hung upside down and tortured on the suspicion of theft in Telangana’s Mancherial district. The victims were not only tied upside down but a fire was also lit under them and both were thrashed.

In its normal configuration, PSLV is a four stage/engine expendable rocket powered by solid and liquid fuels alternatively with six booster motors strapped on to the first stage to give higher thrust during the initial flight moments.

Aditya L1 spacecraft is designed for providing remote observations of the solar corona and in situ observations of the solar wind at L1 (Sun-Earth Lagrangian point), which is about 1.5 million kilometres from the earth.

A Pakistani national, who had entered India illegally, was arrested by the police in Hyderabad on Thursday.  Mohammed Faiz, 24, was arrested from his in-laws’ house in Asad Baba Nagar under the limits of Bahadurpura police station.
