A Pakistani terrorist and a J&K policeman were killed while two police officers were injured in the continuing anti-terrorist operation in J&K’s Kathua district, police said on Sunday. 

Two terrorists were killed and five security personnel, including a J&K Police official, injured in an encounter between security forces and the terrorists in J&K's Kulgam district on Saturday. 

He said the surgical strikes have taught the biggest lessons to the “mentors of terrorism” as they have understood if they do any mischief again, they will be hit inside their own country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that for the first time, the BJP will form a government in J&K with full majority after the Assembly elections. 

The injured have been identified as Kulgam Additional Superintendent of Police Mumtaz Ali Bhatti, sepoy Mohan Sharma, sepoy Sohan Kumar, sepoy Yoginder and sepoy Mohammad Isran of the Rashtriya Rifles.

Officials said that after receiving specific intelligence inputs about the presence of a group of terrorists in Adigam village of the district, security forces, including the Army, police and the CRPF, started a CASO (Cordon and Search Operation) in the area.

J&K recorded 10.22 per cent voter turnout till 9 a.m. on Wednesday during the first two hours since the voting process started at 7 a.m. in the six districts.

Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Ravinder Raina cast his vote on Wednesday at the Lamberi polling station in the Nowshera Assembly constituency, Rajouri district, as the second phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections commenced. 

J&K is gearing up for the second phase of the Assembly elections, covering 26 seats in six districts spread over both the Jammu region and the Kashmir Valley, on Wednesday as campaigning ended on Monday evening.
