The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu has claimed that absconding pro-Khalistan radical Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh is currently hiding in Nepal and requested the Himalayan nation's government agencies to arrest him if he tries to flee.

On Friday, before landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, the Air India plane from New Delhi, flying at an unauthorised height of 19,000 feet, suddenly fell to 15,000 feet.

The team will jointly work with the Indian officials to set bilateral talks agenda even though the dates of Dahal's trip are yet to be finalised, according to a report published in Kathmandu Post on Sunday.

"I will go to India before April 20," Prachanda said after winning the vote of confidence. "Though we have not finalised the date of the India visit but it can happen first or second week of April. Now I am confident that government will run smoothly," Prachanda added.

He was welcomed by Indian Ambassador to Kathmandu, Naveen Srivastava and recieved by Poudyal at the airport. As soon as he arrived in Kathmandu, both Poudyal and Kwatra sat for delegation level talks where they will review and revisit the entire gamut of bilateral ties.

According to preliminary information, a number of houses were either destroyed or damaged in various parts of the two districts as a result of the earthquake, measuring 5.9 Richter scale, with its epicentre in Bajura district of western Nepal at 2.43 p.m. (local time).

There are a total of 11 foreign experts -- four from the Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety (BEA), an agency of the French government, responsible for investigating aviation accidents and incidents.

An ATR 72 aircraft of Yeti Airlines that took off for Pokhara from Kathmandu crashed at Nayagaun at around 10.30 a.m., killing all 72 people -- 68 passengers and 4 crew members on board.

After a passenger plane with 72 people onboard, including five Indians, crashed in Nepal on Sunday, the Indian embassy here issued helpline numbers, saying that it is touch with local authorities and monitoring the situation.

A total of 68 passengers and four crew members were on board the aircraft that crashed between the old airport and the Pokhara International Airport, Sudarshan Bartaula, spokesperson of Yeti Airlines, said.

Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police Rudra Thapa confirmed with the Kathmandu Post that 25 bodies have been taken to different hospitals in Pokhara for post-mortem. Thapa said the police came to know about the crash at around 11 a.m.

At present, there are 12 parties in the House, out of which 10 have supported Prachanda's bid. Earlier, while claiming the post of Prime Minister, Prachanda was supported by only 168 members.

Chairman of Nepal's ruling party UML and former Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli once again vented his ire against India on Saturday, saying that the neighbouring countries are taking unnecessary interest in the formation of the government in the Himalayan country.

A controversy has erupted in Nepal over Chinas Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) after the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu unilaterally declared that the Pokhara International Airport is a "flagship project of China-Nepal BRI cooperation".
