Assam has once again been inducted into the Guinness World Records Hall of Fame for having submitted the most handwritten notes on the renowned Ahom General Lachit Borphukan on his 400th birth anniversary celebration.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said the authorities would take strict action against anyone engaging in anti-national activities.

One person was killed and four others were injured in an elephant attack at a tea estate in Assam's Nagaon district, officials said on Saturday. The incident took place in the Kaliabor Hatigaon tea estate on Friday.

BJP Meghalaya leader Sanbor Shullai on Thursday said that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will take a call on an alliance with the state's ruling National People's Party (NPP).
