In his letter to the union minister, Sushanta Chowdhury stated, “These DEMU trains, with limited number of coaches, are not sufficient to cater the increasing number of passengers and clear the extra rush that causes great hardship to the daily commuters.”

"A total of approximately 84,800 bottles of the banned cough syrup Eskuf were confiscated. The estimated market value of these seized items is around Rs 3 crore on the black market. The investigation is ongoing," informed the police officer.
Officials said that Shailendra Reang, 33 and Badal Dey, 60 were killed at Devipur in south Tripura and at Golaghati in Sepahijala district, respectively, after being hit by lightning while working in their paddy fields.
"In total, we have seized 55 grams of heroin, 68 kgs of cannabis, Rs 22,000 in cash, 8 mobile phones, and two bikes, while apprehending 10 individuals. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway," added the SP.
Sources from the IMD department have said that in the Northeast region, the highest temperature is in Tripura followed by Guwahati in Assam, and informed that in the coming day this trend will continue.
