Keeping in mind the next year's Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has held a "crucial meeting" in Guwahati to chalk out strategies to win all the 25 parliamentary seats in the eight northeastern states, including Sikkim.

Addressing a press conference here at the conference hall of the civil secretariat, the Principal Secretary of state Revenue department Punit Agarwal said that according to the quadripartite agreement, 11 places have been identified for resettlement of 6,302 Bru families in the state.

The regional parties in the northeastern states are expected to play a significant role in next year's Lok Sabha elections, even as the BJP remains in an advantageous position by virtue of running the government in four out of the eight states in the region.

Chief Minister Manik Saha, who also holds the home portfolio, during a discussion on drugs menace in the just-concluded Assembly session, had said that the state government has taken a zero tolerance policy against drugs trade.

Tripura is all set to host the first-ever G20 international summit commencing on April 3 next here at Agartala on the theme of ‘Clean Energy for Greener Future’. The summit will last till April 4.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Saturday urged to follow the principles and ideology of the late MLA Dilip Sarkar and inaugurated a blood donation camp here at Agartala organised to mark the 4th death anniversary of the late MLA of Badharghat Assembly constituency.
