Besides the Prime Minister, BJP president J.P. Nadda, who had already addressed several election rallies in Tripura on February 3, January 12 and February 9, on Thursday released the party manifesto and addressed the gathering of party workers.

The Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte on Friday issued a directive on opinion and exit polls for the upcoming state election and said that no exit and opinion poll would be allowed from February 16 – 7 PM till February 27 – 7 PM.

The Union defence minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday appealed to the voters to bloom two lotuses in two separate assembly constituencies at Kailasahar and claimed that development is progressing rapidly in Tripura.

He said, “Tripura had undergone massive transformation after the BJP came to power.” He claimed that Tripura has achieved a new identity because of the development work that the BJP government did in the last five years.

At least 54 persons were arrested while notice have been served to 314 persons after around 62 cases of political violence registered with police after declaration of election dates for Tripura Legislative assembly.
