The ruling BJP in Tripura on Tuesday launched the membership campaign 'Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024' with the senior leaders declaring the party's goal to increase the number of party members to 12 lakh from the existing 6.5 lakh.

The body of a girl, likely 16-year-old, was found by the Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday along the India-Bangladesh border in northern Tripura, the police said.

In a horrific case, a 19-year-old boy in Tripura on Monday repeatedly stabbed a 16-year-old girl, with whom he had a relationship, and then used the same knife to slit his own throat, and both succumbed to their injuries, police said.
