As the flash flood situation in the state of Tripura has worsened due to the incessant torrential since August 19 last, at least 7 people including children of two separate families dies in a landslide taking the death toll to total 17.

The state government has imposed restrictions on vehicle movement along the NH-08 near 47 Miles and the embankment areas of the Katakhal and Howrah Rivers.

Amid reports in Bangladesh dailies that current flood situation in the neighbouring country has been caused by opening of the Dumbur dam upstream of the Gumti River in Tripura, India on Thursday pointed out that the flood is not because of release of water from Tripura dam.
