Tripura BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharya on Sunday took a dig at the former Left Front government, accusing it of fostering socialism and capitalism among the youth while suppressing the people during its prolonged rule.

In a major drug bust, Tripura Police seized 1.24 lakh methamphetamine tablets (also known as Yaba tablets) valued at around Rs one crore and arrested two persons in the capital city on Sunday, officials said. 

The drug peddlers, whom the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is now investigating and has raided in Tripura, maintained an interstate network facilitating drug trafficking across various other states, including Assam, Bihar, and other parts of India, officials said on Saturday.
