Counting of votes cast in the recently-held Assembly elections in Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland will take place on Thursday under three-tier security measures involving the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), officials said on Wednesday.

During his visit the CEO said, “The poll counting will begin from 8 am morning on March 8 next, while in the first phase postal ballots will be opened for counting which will continue till 8.30 am, and in the next phase the EVMs will be opened for counting.”

The ADG, who is appointed as State force coordinator for Assembly Elction-2023 in State of Tripura, lauded the diligence of CRPF deployed at breadth and length of the country. He also lauded the agencies/forces involved for free & fair election.

Soon after the publication of exit poll for the state’s assembly election, the opposition Congress party MLA and veteran party leader Sudip Roy Barman on Monday termed the exit poll published by a section of national media as ‘farce’ by the BJP party.
