14 arrested in anti-liquor operation by Police in city

AGARTALA:

In a determined effort to maintain law and order during the auspicious Sharadotsav, West District Superintendent of Police, Dr. Kiran Kumar, spearheaded an extensive anti-liquor campaign.

The operation culminated in a significant raid on illegal country liquor shops in the bustling Maharajganj market on Sunday night. Under the vigilant eye of Dr. Kiran Kumar the police force executed the operation with precision, resulting in the confiscation of a staggering 5,000 liters of illegal liquor.

This move not only reinforces the commitment of the police department to uphold safety but also underscores their proactive stance against criminal activities.

Following the operation, 14 individuals associated with the illegal liquor trade were apprehended by the police. Charges have been levied against them in accordance with the pertinent sections of the law.

The resolute actions of the police department serve as a resounding message that illicit activities will not be tolerated especially during important community events like Sharadotsav.
