Dr. Vishal Kumar, the District Election Officer (DEO) overseeing the West Tripura Parliamentary Seat, conducted an inspection of the preparedness at Umakanta Higher Secondary School in Agartala.
The inspection focused on setting up 15 strong rooms and one counting hall for the upcoming election on April 19. This election coincides with the by-election in the 7-Ramanagar Assembly Constituency, following the unfortunate passing of BJP MLA Surajit Datta.
Speaking to reporters after the inspection, Dr. Kumar emphasized the ongoing installation of CCTV cameras in the strong rooms and the forthcoming deployment of Central Armed Paramilitary Forces upon the arrival of EVM machines.
"As the April 19th election date draws near, we've meticulously examined the arrangements at Umakanta Higher Secondary School, where 15 strong rooms and a counting hall will be established. We've engaged in discussions with the school administration to ensure all necessary preparations are in place. Addressing highlighted concerns, we're swiftly resolving any issues. This year, Central Armed Paramilitary Forces will be deployed for added security. The process of installing CCTV cameras has commenced, and we anticipate the prompt arrival of EVM machines," he stated.
