In a tragic incident, a 16 years old minor identified as Timir Deb of Melagarh Tel Kajla area allegedly killed a 56 years old local businessman of Melagrah Netaji Chowmuhni.
The incident took place on Sunday, after the accused boy went to the xerox shop of the deceased Biswajit Debnath and allegedly took out a knife from his school bag to attack him over some cash dispute.
According to the report, the deceased businessman suspected the minor student of robbing cash from the cashbox of his shop, soon after he found a cash amounting to Rs. 2500 was missing from his cashbox.
Following this, when Debnath asked the boy regarding the missing cash amount, the accused student allegedly took out a knife from his school bag to attack him. The businessman suffered multiple injuries on his body due to the attack.
The locals of Melagarh Netaji Chowmuhni area managed to catch the accused boy while he attempted to flee from the spot and later handed him over with the police. On the other hand, the injured Biswajit Debnath succumbed to the injuries on the way to Agartala GBP Hospital.
