As many as 25 shops were burn to ashes after a terrible fire broke out at Baburbazar in Kailasahar around 4:30 am on Saturday.
About 25 shops were burnt to ashes. It is said that the amount of damage will be around 2 crore rupees. According to the details of the incident, the fire was seen in the shop of Haji Akbar Ali of Baburbazar late at night.
Soon after the incident the Fire fighters were informed. But in the meantime, about 25 shops were burnt to ashes. However, it is not yet known exactly how this fire started.
On receiving the information, Irani police and TSR jawans reached the spot and started rescue work. However, according to the locals, if the firemen had reached the spot at the right time, the damage would not have been so great.
Moreover, Haji Akbar Bazar of Baburbazar is said to have electronics item shops, government fair price shops and big godowns.
As a result of the fire, none of the traders in the market shed could recover any goods.
Meanwhile, the night watchman of the market said that he saw a fire in a shop as lightning flashed in the morning. In no time the fire spread to the surrounding shops. However, firemen rushed to the spot and quickly brought the fire under control.
The fire has caused extensive damage to the market. There have been six fires in the market before. But in this fire, the amount of damage is huge. The affected businessmen claim that if the government gives them financial support, they will get a way to live again. Otherwise they will not be able to resume business. The incident of the fire of this day has created a lot of excitement.
