A fourty-hour long training program on mediation was concluded at Tripura Judicial Academy (TJA) here on Friday. The State Mediation Committee in association with MCPC, Supreme Court of India organized the workshop.
25 judicial officers and lawyers took part in the training programme. Chief Justice A K Singh along with Justice T A Goud and Justice Arindam Lodh were present in the valedictory function. The training was imparted by mediator trainers- Nisha Saxena, Sachin Jain and Monika Jalota.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Justice A K Singh stressed on the core aspects of alternative dispute resolution mechanism and opined that the lawyers representing parties must be a patient listener to provide best assistance in the mediation process. He batted for adoption of problem-solving approach in the interest of parties.
Secretary of High Court Legal Services Authority Jhuma Datta Choudhury, Member Secretary of TSLSA Data Mohan Jamatia, Registrar General Bishwajit Pandey, Director of TJA S Datta Purakayastha and Principal Secretary Dhiman Debbarma among others were present in the program.
