In a groundbreaking achievement, the Special Lok Adalat has disposed of a staggering 5,816 cases in a single day across the four districts, including in West, Khowai, Sepahijala and in Dhalai.
As per a press release, the special Lok Adalats, organized on a public holiday, witnessed the resolution of 6,957 cases related to Motor Vehicle Act, TP Act, Excise Act, and TG Act, demonstrating the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal system.
“The 12 benches of the Special Lok Adalat played a pivotal role in settling the cases, with an impressive 83% success rate. Notably, 2,208 cases out of 2,380 were resolved in Lok Adalat West district, 1,525 cases out of 2,054 in Sepahijala district, 769 cases out of 1,123 in Dhalai district, and 1,314 cases out of 1,400 in Khowai district were disposed of”, the press release reads.
In addition to the significant legal victories, the Lok Adalat also saw a financial triumph, with a total collection of Rs 6.59 lakh during the settlements.
Jhuma Datta Chowdhury, Member Secretary of the State Legal Service Authority, expressed gratitude to all those involved for their cooperation and commitment to justice during the Lok Adalat.
