67 percent households in AMC areas connected with drinking water supply: CM Dr Manik Saha

AGARTALA:

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday claimed that at least 67% households were connected with drinking water supply in the areas of Agartala Municipal Corporation.

Replying to the query raised by Congress MLA Gopal Chandra Ray here in the assembly session on Thursday, Chief Minister Dr Saha said that presently the work of Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation-2.0 project is progressing in AMC areas.

A target of providing potable water connection to 13% more households has been taken through this project, Dr Saha informed the assembly.

He further added that the Tripura Jal Board is working through two projects to connect the remaining 20% households with drinking water. Among these two projects, tenders have been accepted for construction of ground water treatment plant with a capacity of 5.50 million liters per day, he added.

He also informed that besides, the work of inviting tenders for setting up surface water treatment plant with a capacity of 6.42 million liters per day is going on.
