72-hour protocol to begin from tomorrow: CEO

As only four days left for the assembly election, the 72-hour protocol will start tomorrow across the state, said CEO Kiran Gitte.

Addressing a press conference, CEO Gitte said assembly election will be held on February 16 and before this three types of protocols have to be followed. He said that the 72-hour protocol will start tomorrow. According to the protocol, checking will be started from tomorrow at places where people can stay, such as hotels, guesthouses, Dharamshala, weddings, etc. because no person who is not a voter can stay in the respective polling station 48 hours before the election.

“India-Bangladesh international border, Assam, Mizoram border will be sealed from tomorrow. Bike rallies will not be allowed from tomorrow onwards. Candidates are to submit their election expenditure accounts to the Observer tomorrow”, said Gitte.

In the press conference, the CEO said, 48 hours before the election, no election campaign can be carried out after 4 pm on the 14th.
