The 4-day long 7th North East Youth Festival is all set to commence from February 26 next here at Agartala.
The state sports and youth affairs minister Tinku Roy will inaugurate the festival Purbasha Urban Hat premises in Agartala.
Addressing a press conference here at Agartala Shiksha Bhavan on Saturday, the minister Tinku Roy said that a colorful rally will be organized from 2 pm onward as a mark of the inauguration of the festival. The rally will start from Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan premises and will end at Purbasha's Urban Hat premises after circumambulating various routes in Agartala.
845 delegates from 8 North Eastern states including Tripura will participate in this youth festival, the minister said, adding that youths arriving from different parts of the country will participate in competitions of yoga, folk dance, martial arts, painting, photography, musical instruments, folk music, etc.
He said that these 4-day events will be held at Agartala Purbasha Urban Hat Premises, Nazrul Kalakshetra, Town Hall and Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan. The names of the participants will be registered at the festival on February 25 at the Bhagat Singh Youth Home in Agartala.
The closing and prize distribution ceremony of this youth festival will be organized at Swami Vivekananda Maidan on February 29 at 4 pm. The Youth Affairs and Sports Minister sought the cooperation of all concerned to make the festival a success.
