The development of the Mata Tripureshwari Temple premises in Udaipur is advancing at a swift pace, with nearly 80 percent of the work completed, according to the latest update from the state’s Tourism Department. The remaining construction is projected to be finished within the current financial year.
This project is part of the Ministry of Tourism’s ‘Prasad Scheme,’ which is focused on enhancing religious tourism. So far, Rs 25.62 crore has been allocated by the Government of India for the project, with an additional ₹13 crore contributed by the state government, as confirmed by Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury in a written reply to the Assembly.
“The ongoing transformation of the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple is part of a larger initiative to boost religious tourism in Tripura,” the minister said. “Our goal is to provide world-class infrastructure that will enrich the spiritual experience for visitors and draw more tourists to the region.”
Key infrastructure at the temple site is nearing completion, including the construction of a retaining wall, a walkway, mezzanine slabs and extensive plastering work. In addition, the installation of a sewage treatment plant, pipelines, water supply systems, stormwater drains, landscaping and vertical plantation is well underway.
Facilities such as electrical systems, public restrooms, changing rooms and internal signage are also in progress.
