Students of Agartala Government Medical College staged a protest on Monday afternoon following a violent attack on one of their peers by a group of miscreants. The incident occurred on the night of June 1 when the victim, a student at the college, had a verbal altercation with several youths while parking his bike at GB Hospital.
The confrontation escalated quickly, leading to the student being assaulted by the group. He sustained serious head injuries and was promptly rescued and taken to the trauma center of GB Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
In the wake of this attack, the student community has raised significant concerns regarding their safety. Today they gathered in front of the Agartala Government Medical College, demanding immediate action against the assailants. The protesting students emphasized that if such incidents continue, it would severely impact their ability to provide medical services in the future.
The students are calling for the arrest of three to four individuals they believe were involved in the attack. They have reported the incident to the Medical Superintendent (MS) and the Principal of Agartala Government Medical College, who have assured them that strict measures will be taken against those responsible.
