Along with the rest of the states, the Tripura government will launch the third edition of the "Har Ghar Tiranga" (HGT) campaign from August 9-15 as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
Announcing this in a press conference here at Agartala on Thursday, the Secretary of the Information and Cultural Affairs department Pradeep Kumar Chakraborty said that the government has undertaken a slew of events to be held between August 9 to August 15 in all the eight districts of the state.
The events include Tiranga Yatra, Tiranga Rally, Tiranga Runs & Marathons, Tiranga Concerts, Tiranga Canvas, Tiranga Play, Tiranga Tribute, Tiranga Fair and Tiranga Selfie, he said, adding that the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was started from 2022 to encourage the people of the country to hoist the national flag on the occasion of the Independence Day celebration.
In a press conference, the secretary said that a preparatory meeting was held at the secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on August 1 to make the Har Ghar Tricolor campaign a success. Various initiatives have already been taken according to the decision of the meeting.
Chakraborty said that from August 9, Tiranga Yatra will be held in all the districts of the state under the initiative of the district administration. Tiranga rally will be held on August 12-13 under the initiative of Youth Affairs and Sports Department. Moreover, from August 9, Tiranga Runs and Marathons will be organized under the initiative of Youth Affairs and Sports Department. State based tricolor concert will be held at Agartala town hall on August 15, he told reporters.
He said that the tricolor canvas will be installed in different places of the state on August 9-13. On this canvas people will sign Har Ghar Tiranga or Jai Hind word in any Indian language. This tricolor canvas will be uploaded on the Har Ghar Tricolor website.
The secretary also said that tricolor oath-taking will be organized at the places where plaques were installed last year during the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign program in the state on August 9-13. Tiranga tributes will be organized in every district of the state from August 9-13 to pay tribute to those who laid down their lives for the defense of the country. The secretary also announced other slew of events.
