Shockwaves rippled through Melaghar Hospital as reports emerged of patients allegedly receiving doses of expired saline, leading to deterioration in their health.
The distressing incident came to light when vigilant relatives of a patient discovered that their loved one had been administered at least four to five doses of saline past its expiry date.
Sources reveal that the patient had initially sought treatment at Melaghar Hospital for a physical ailment. However, it was later uncovered that attending physicians, seemingly devoid of due diligence, had administered expired saline. When pressed for an explanation, the doctors on duty failed to provide a satisfactory response.
Fueled by anger and concern, the patient's relatives voiced their grievances and demanded accountability from the hospital staff. They asserted that this incident may not be isolated and that other patients within the facility might have been exposed to the same hazardous oversight.
The aggrieved relatives have now called upon the state government and the health department to launch a comprehensive investigation into the matter. They are adamant that immediate action be taken to safeguard the well-being of all patients currently undergoing treatment at Melaghar Hospital.
