Assam Rifles destroyed Rs 2.13 crore worth of marijuana in Tripura

AGARTALA:

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Customs Preventive Force have successfully seized and destroyed a large quantity of marijuana in general area Dhanirampur, Sepahijala district, Tripura during the late hours on 06 February.

As per Assam Rifles the operation led to the confiscation of marijuana worth Rs 1.03 crores and the destruction of 28,500 marijuana saplings valued at Rs 1.1 crores, bringing the total valuation to Rs 2.13 crores.

Assam Rifles said that acting on a precise intelligence, the joint team executed the operation, striking a significant blow to illicit drug cultivation and smuggling networks in the region. The seized contraband was handed over to the concerned authorities for further legal action.

The successful operation underscores Assam Rifles’ relentless efforts in combating the menace of drug trafficking and ensuring a drug free society.
