A 12-member delegation of veterinarians of Assam Sribhumi district has made their footfall in the state of Tripura for their 3-day visit and learns the execution of sex-sorted artificial insemination of cattle in the state.
Lauding the Tripura government’s ‘Mukhyamantri Unnoato Godhan Prakalp’, Dr Abu Bakkar Siddique, the veterinary sub divisional officer of Sribhumi district of Assam claimed that Tripura has been doing commendable job in animal husbandry sector, where the government is focused on enhancing milk production and become self-sufficient.
He said, “Tripura government is doing excellent work in the animal husbandry sector with the introduction of sex-sorted artificial insemination of cattle under the Mukhyamantri Unnoto Godhan Prakalpa scheme.”
“We are here to learn more from the scheme so that the farmers in Assam become self-sufficient in milk production by ensuring that more cows are born through selective chromosome selection,” he told reporters.
On the other hand, Dr Sanjib Das, General Manager of Tripura Livestock Development Agency said, “As we have introduced sex-sorted artificial insemination of cattle from 2020-21 with an aim to make our state self-sufficient in milk production for five years, a 12-member delegation from the Asam state is in a three-day visit to the state to learn its execution and how we worked on this during the last five years.”
