MLA Birajit Sinha called upon the Tripura government to expedite the acquisition of land for the Kailasahar airport and to kickstart the long-awaited renovation process. Sinha emphasized the urgent need to expand the scope of the Kailashahar airport to better serve the region's growing air travel demands.
Highlighting the history of the project, Sinha mentioned that the central government had granted permission a decade ago to renovate the old airport and commence air services. However, progress on this front was stalled due to challenges related to land acquisition during the previous administration's tenure.
During discussions in the assembly, Sinha personally engaged with Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha to address the matter. In response, the Chief Minister expressed his commitment to facilitating discussions with the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation to expedite the process.
Speaking optimistically about the prospects of reopening the airport, Sinha conveyed the Chief Minister's affirmative assurances regarding the initiative. The reopening and expansion of the Kailashahar airport are expected to significantly enhance connectivity in the region, benefiting both local residents and businesses alike.
As stakeholders eagerly await further developments, the spotlight remains on the Tripura government's efforts to realize the long-awaited transformation of the Kailashahar airport into a hub of regional connectivity and economic growth.
