The leader of Opposition Manik Sarkar on Wednesday held the BJP responsible for the electoral understanding between the CPI(M) and the Congress party.
Addressing an election rally in Jolaibari area in South Tripura district on Wednesday, the veteran CPI(M) leader said, “Worried of the emergence of all democratic and secular forces, the BJP is now misleading the people of this state by saying that both the parties were fighting amongst themselves for several years and they suddenly came together before the polls.”
“The Congress and CPI(M) came together with an electoral understanding because of the BJP’s misrule in Tripura,” he said, adding that people of Tripura need to suffer for another five years if the BJP-IPFT is voted to power again.
He said, “During the last five years the BJP had succeeded in turning elections into a farce. But this time people of this state will resist the BJP's bid to loot votes in the ensuing assembly election.”
Lambasting the BJP government, the veteran CPI(M) leader on Wednesday said, “The BJP in 2018 came to power in Tripura by laying its prey of vision document, where the government employees, youth, minorities, tribals- all sections of people fell into.”
Manik Sarkar however urged the voters to participate in voting exercise in large number in the ensuing assembly election and said, “The BJP had turned election into a farce during the last five years in Tripura, but people will no longer entertain looting of votes.”
