A day ahead of a massive public gathering in Tripura, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the opposition CPI(M) of attempting to mislead people through false narratives. BJP spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty alleged that the CPI(M), unable to accept the state's progress under the current government, is spreading misinformation to create confusion about the upcoming event.
Addressing the media on Saturday, Chakraborty claimed that the CPI(M) had a history of suppressing dissent during its rule, alleging that people who refused to participate in their rallies were deprived of employment opportunities under schemes like MNREGA.
“The CPI(M) is known for its misleading tactics. They have always opposed development and are now attempting to disrupt the enthusiasm surrounding tomorrow’s public meeting by spreading falsehoods on social media,” Chakraborty said.
He reiterated that the event, which will be graced by BJP National President and Union Health Minister JP Nadda, along with Tripura Chief Minister (Dr.) Manik Saha and other party leaders, is set to be a historic gathering.
“The BJP government has brought transformative development to Tripura in the last seven years. From rural areas to the grassroots, people are witnessing real change,” Chakraborty asserted, urging the public to participate in the meeting.
He further stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Manik Saha, Tripura is progressing towards becoming a ‘Vikshit’ (developed) state, bringing tangible benefits to women, youth, and farmers.
As political tensions rise ahead of the mega event, the BJP maintains that the opposition's attempts to disrupt the momentum will not deter its commitment to development and governance.
