Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today criticized the CPIM and Congress for their long regime marked by violence and stated that conspiracies are being hatched to disrupt law and order in the state.
"Service is our religion. This is the main mantra of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Efforts are being made to ensure that the government's various beneficiary schemes reach the last person in society. During the 35 years of Left and Congress rule, violence, murder, and terrorism were rampant. Whenever there was an incident, they would find a way to get through it. The Bharatiya Janata Party never believes in violence or mischief," he said.
The Chief Minister said this while laying the foundation stone of a Shiva temple at the Kasbeswari Kali temple premises in Kamalasagar on the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja. On this day, he also prayed for the peace and prosperity of the people by performing puja at the temple.
Dr. Saha further criticized the opposition political parties in the state on various issues.
He said that the politics of violence, murder and terror were prevalent during the prolonged Left and Congress era.
"But the Bharatiya Janata Party never condones such injustice. Our party does not support violence or mischief. There is now a rule of law in the state and those miscreants will be brought under the rule of law. The law and order situation in the state has improved considerably. And now there is nothing substantial to say against the government. Therefore, conspiracies are underway in various places to degrade law and order. You all must remain vigilant. The current government is running the state by maintaining peace and harmony. People have faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and they trust the BJP. That is why we have been able to come to power for the second time. This trust has made it possible," he said.
Later, the Chief Minister participated in a cloth distribution program organized by Kamalasagar Mandal. Kamalasagar MLA Antara Sarkar Deb and other local Mandal leaders were present at the event.
In the evening, Chief Minister Dr. Saha inaugurated and visited several puja events organized by clubs and social organizations in the capital city of Agartala.
