The ruling BJP in Tripura has set its sights on the upcoming Lok Sabha election by establishing a 74-member Lok Sabha Election Management Committee to oversee affairs in the state's two parliamentary constituencies, West and East (ST).
Chaired by BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya, the election committee, which included key figures such as Assam-Tripura General Secretary (Organization) Ravindra Raju, General Secretaries Amit Rakhshit, and Bipin Debbarma, meticulously crafted this committee to ensure smooth operations throughout the electoral process.
Divided evenly between the two constituencies, with 37 members allocated to each, this committee was meticulously crafted following thorough deliberations. A senior party leader emphasized that every member has been assigned specific responsibilities in accordance with their expertise and capabilities.
Former minister and MLA Bhagaban Das has been entrusted with the crucial role of In-Charge for the Lok Sabha West Parliamentary Seat, supported by Papia Datta, the party's Vice President, serving as Co-Incharge. Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath has been named Convener of the committee, alongside Co-convener MLA Abhishek Deb Roy.
Similarly, for the East (ST) parliamentary seat, the responsibilities have been meticulously delegated. General Secretary Amit Rakhshit assumes the mantle of Lok Sabha In-charge, with Vice President Bimal Chakma acting as Co-In Charge. Minister Tinku Roy has been tasked with the role of Lok Sabha Convener, while Co-convener duties fall to MLA Sambhu Lal Jamatia.
