The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura has once again employed its tried-and-tested micromanagement approach for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Recently, the party finalized the appointment of Booth Level Agents across all organizational booths and completed the grading of these booths.
According to a senior party leader, the grading process involved an exhaustive ground-level survey, categorizing booths into four distinct categories: A, B, C, and D. Category A comprises booths where the party enjoys strong support, while Category B includes booths with a majority of BJP voters. Category C denotes booths with an equal ratio of ruling and opposition support, whereas Category D encompasses booths where the opposition holds sway. With the inclusion of the Tipra Motha Party in the ruling coalition, the number of such opposition-leaning booths has significantly reduced.
In parallel, Biplab Kumar Deb, the BJP candidate from West Tripura, participated in a training session for the party's booth-level agents at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan. Post-session, Deb emphasized the technical nature of the training, where agents were equipped with strategies for effective campaigning at the booth level, including the process of booth grading.
Taking a swipe at the opposition, particularly the CPIM and Congress, Deb dismissed them as weakened forces with wavering leadership. He highlighted the futility of media speculation surrounding meetings with opposition figures, such as Pradyot Kishore Debbarman of the Tipra Motha Party, asserting that such encounters only served to reaffirm the BJP's dominant position.
Deb concluded by underscoring the BJP's confidence in its strategy, contrasting it with the perceived confusion among opposition ranks, which he attributed to their lack of a cohesive vision for the future.
