BJP president warns of police action against miscreants trying to damage culture of violence-free election

AGARTALA:

In view of the sporadic incidents of post-poll violence across the state, the ruling BJP party’s state president Rajiv Bhattacharjee, Saturday warned of police action against the miscreants trying to damage the culture of violence-free election.

He said, “This is for the first time that Tripura witnessed a violence-free election and introduced a new culture in the state. Taking advantage out of it, some goons are trying to damage the culture.”

“The miscreants are trying to provoke the people of this state who voted for peace this time, I appeal to my party workers to stay away from such provocations,” he told reporters on Saturday.

Replying to the query of the reporters over the dropping of seats for the BJP party in this assembly election, the BJP leader said, “We will surely review our failures and accordingly we will work on this.”

He however informed that the BJP party will soon launch rallies across the state to celebrate the victory of the party. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach here to the state on March 8 to attend the oath taking ceremony of BJP-IPFT government, he said.
