BSF observes 60th Raising Day; CM Dr Manik Saha pays tribute to martyrs

AGARTALA:

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Sunday paid tribute to the martyred soldiers, who laid down their lives in the line of duty on the 60th Raising Day of the Border Security Force (BSF).

Attending an event here at Agartala Salbagan 81st battalion of the BSF IG Headquarter, CM Dr Saha lauded the efforts of the BSF jawans for their significant contribution in maintaining peace and tranquillity along the border. He also released the BSF Magazine, "Gajraj."

According to the press communique, BSF Tripura Frontier over the years has undertaken numerous responsibilities, including combating insurgency, maintaining the sanctity of the border, and preventing trans-border crimes. These tasks have been accomplished under adverse climatic conditions in remote and inhospitable terrain, including malaria-infested zones.

The BSF has also consistently maintained synergy with state authorities and other security and intelligence agencies, safeguarding the borders and fostering harmony among border populations.
