The state is developing along with time. Positive thinking is required from everyone. It is because of everyone's efforts that a beautiful institution like Tripura High Court is functioning. The government is committed in developing the state's infrastructure. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while addressing as the chief guest on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Tripura High Court yesterday.
He said that Tripura High Court was established at the highest level in the country. Cases are being settled here very quickly. People breathe a sigh of relief if cases are disposed off faster.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government is setting up National Law University and Judicial Academy despite limited financial capacity of the State Government. Also initiatives have been taken to set up a law college at private level. He drew the attention of the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court to fill up all the vacancies in the state judiciary.
The Chief Minister also said that people expect justice. He called on how people can be given relief in the justice system in a humanitarian way. The Chief Minister inaugurated the 10th anniversary of the High Court by lighting a lamp at the Tripura High Court premises.
Acting Chief Justice of Tripura High Court T. Amarnath Goud and Senior Advocate Shankar Deb spoke on the occasion. Among the dignitaries present on the stage were Justice Arindam Lodh of Tripura High Court, Advocate General Siddhartha Shankar Dey, Chairman of Bar Council Ratan Dutta, President of Tripura High Court Bar Association, Senior Advocate Purushottam Roy Barman and others.
On the occasion Senior Advocate Shankar Deb was felicitated for completing 50 years in the field of legal profession. Chief Secretary J.K Sinha along with retired judges and eminent officials were also present on the occasion. A wonderful cultural programme was also organized on the occasion.
