Cataract surgery camp organized at GBP, 13 patients receive successful treatment

AGARTALA:

Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital continue to serve the community with dedicated healthcare initiatives. In a special cataract surgery camp organized under the supervision of the ophthalmology department, 13 patients, including seven males and six females, underwent successful surgeries.

The surgeries were conducted by specialist ophthalmologists Dr. Abhijit Roy and Dr. Rakhindra Das, with the assistance of OT technicians Leela Barman, Nursing Officer-in-Charge Gayatri Som Das and Maitree Debbarma. The camp ensured comprehensive post-operative care, providing free glasses and medicines to beneficiaries under the BPL and Ayushman Bharat schemes.

This initiative highlights the hospital’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare to elderly and senior citizens. The Health and Family Welfare Department shared details of the camp in a press release, lauding the medical team's efforts.

Such programs not only restore vision but also improve the quality of life for many, ensuring the elderly in Tripura receive timely and effective care.
