To ensure zero tolerance on June 4 counting day, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Puneet Agarwal on Wednesday visited Sonamura and Jampuijala subdivision in Sepahijala district of the state and checked the counting preparedness in the counting hall.
The Chief Electoral Officer first visited the counting hall in Sonamura Girls School, where counting of votes for 1-Tripura West Parliamentary Constituency will be held on June 4 along with the rest of the Centres. He was accompanied by District Electoral Officer of Sepahijala District and District Magistrate Nagesh Kumar B, District Superintendent of Police B J Reddy, Additional District Magistrate Jayanta Dey, SDM of Sonamura Sub-Division Arup Deb and other officials.
The CEO also spoke to representatives of various political parties and asked them to visit the counting centers as per the guidelines of the commission. The Chief Electoral Officer also visited the media center and rooms designated for counting observers and reviewed the security issues.
During his visit the CEO held a meeting in the conference hall of the District Magistrate Office in Sepahijala on the preparation of counting of votes. A review meeting was held with the concerned officials regarding the counting of votes in the conference hall of the DM office under the chairmanship of CEO.
In the review meeting, District Magistrate Nagesh Kumar B presented the preparations for the counting of votes in Sepahijala district. The CEO directed the officials concerned to make all kinds of preparations to complete the work of vote counting properly.
