Chief Secretary J K Sinha on Monday chaired a special meeting here at the secretariat with the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) to discuss the flood situation of the state and also to assist the flood-affected victims in the state.
In the meeting, the representatives of various banks of the state agreed to extend all possible help to the recent flood victims.
Secretaries, special secretaries, officers and senior officials of various departments were present in the meeting and presented detailed information about the damage caused by the flood in the state.
Addressing a press conference here in the conference hall of the civil secretariat on Monday said that the representatives of various banks in the meeting said that their banks will take initiatives to help the victims based on the amount of damage in agriculture and agriculture related sectors due to floods.
Banks will organize camps in different areas in coordination with different departments in providing loans, he said, adding that banks will also assist the flood-affected people under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban schemes.
The secretary of Animal Resource Development Department and Fisheries Department said that the flood has caused huge damage to the department's resources which will be determined and informed to the banks.
