CM attends a blood donation camp organised by Biplobi Kshudiram Basu social organization

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Sunday emphasized on the need of organizing blood donation camps and called to ensure adequate supply and meet the demand.

CM Dr Saha on Sunday inaugurated a Blood Donation Camp organized by Kshudiram Social Society at Agartala Melarmath. The blood donation camp was organised on the occasion of revolutionary Kshudiram Bose's death anniversary.

Blood banks need to have one percent blood units in proportion to the total population of the state, Dr Saha said, adding that adequate storage of blood in blood banks helps in rendering medical services and surgeries.

In the event, the Chief Minister said that special importance has been given to the development of the health system in the state. Initiatives have been taken to build better health infrastructure to strengthen district hospitals.

He also said that the number of seats in the MBBS course of Agartala Government Medical College has been increased and Super specialty department has been introduced in AGMC.

Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation and MLA Deepak Majumder, Markfed Vice Chairman Sanjay Saha, and others were present on the occasion.
