Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Saturday attended the National Travel Mart, organised by the Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI) here in the premise of Gitanjali Gust House at Agartala and said that the tour operators play a crucial role in boosting the tourism industry.
CM Dr Saha highlighted the vision of the state government in the development of tourism facilities and tourism industry. The state transport and tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury along with the officials of the transport and tourism department were also present.
During the event, foreign tour operators participated in B2B discussions, while 80 representatives from 16 states of the country participated in this discussion.
Speaking in the event, the Chief Minister Dr Saha said that the footstep of tourists from the state and abroad in the tourist destinations of Tripura have gradually increased due to the peaceful environment and better law and order situation.
On the occasion, Tourism Minister Sushant Chowdhury said that earlier the tourism sector was neglected in the state. The development of the tourism industry is accelerating in the state under the support of the Prime Minister and the leadership of the Chief Minister of the state.
