Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Friday inaugurated the 51st State Level Children's Scientific Exhibition at Maharani Tulsibati Higher Secondary Girls' School and called for more students’ participation in developing science and technology.
He said that science exhibitions play a key role in exploring and developing the innovative talents of the students. He further added that the students’ fraternity should come up with their innovative ideas to develop the state and nation as a whole.
“One of the steps for the development and progress of a country or state is the practice of science and its proper use,” Dr Saha said, adding that students should be taught to be rich in human values from educational institutions. Students should be encouraged more to do innovative work that benefits the people.
The Chief Minister said that the methods and subjects of education are changing with time. Therefore, it is necessary to give importance to the subjects related to modern education in school teaching over the traditional teaching of teachers, he added. He opined that the new National Education Policy will have a far-reaching impact on the education system in the future.
Total 40 models, 5 each from each district of the state, have been presented in this exhibition, where the Chief Minister interacted with the participating students and gained knowledge about their innovations.
