Tripura along with the rest of the nation remembered the evergreen Indian music composer and singer Kumar Sachin Dev Barman on his 117th birth anniversary on Sunday.
The state level programme was held here at Agartala Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, where Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha paid a floral tribute to the portrait of Sachin Dev Burman and said that the legendary musician, melody emperor Kumar Sachin Debbarman was a shining star in the music world. He brought the cultural heritage of our country and state to international level. His contribution to the music world will remain forever memorable, he added.
Sachin Dev Burman’s cast contribution in the world of music has paved the way of composing music for the music artists of the present generation, Dr. Saha said, adding that his music has highly depicted the Indian tradition of art and culture and also the tradition of the Janajati community of Tripura.
Meanwhile, the former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma said that the legendary artist Kumar Sachin Dev Burman has introduced the folk music of Tripura and the Bengali community to the international level. He said artist Kumar Sachin Dev Burman never separated himself from Tripura.
