Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday said that the legendary poet Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam served as a bridge between Hindus and Muslims, promoting unity and harmony.
Dr. Saha was speaking in the programme of 124th Birth anniversary of Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam at Nazrul Kalakshetra here in Agartala. He also paid floral tribute to the statue of Kazi Nazrul Islam.
“Known as the Bidrohi Kobi — Rebel Poet, Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam was an indomitable warrior for freedom. Through his poems, songs and recitations, he motivated the freedom fighters during the struggle for India’s independence,” he said, adding that the Rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam is still relevant today. Kazi Nazrul Islam's day is celebrated across the state every year to inculcate the present generation with the thoughts, spirit, and patriotism of Kazi Nazrul Islam.
