CM Dr Manik Saha pitches for development of nursing system in hospitals and health institutions for better service

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday attended the lamp lighting and oath taking ceremonial programme of the 2nd batch of the B.Sc Nursing students here at Agartala Government Nursing College and said that nurses play key role in rendering health services to the patients.

Addressing the gathering of nurses in the programme on Monday, the Chief Minister said that it is necessary to develop nursing system in the health institutions. The Chief Minister said that the Nurses Training Institute established in 1950 is the oldest and most acclaimed institute in the state. Later in 1994 this institution came under Tripura Nursing Council.

“Agartala Government Nursing College is well equipped with all modern facilities and infrastructure, the nursing college has advanced technical laboratories like foundation lab, advanced nursing lab, paediatric lab, midwifery lab, community lab, nutrition lab with simulated units besides facility of smart classes,” Dr Saha said and also inaugurated IT lab of the nursing college.

The Chief Minister said that for the development of the health system, various health institutions including two medical colleges, nursing colleges, dental colleges have been established in the state. The state government has taken efforts to build health hubs in the state based on all these infrastructures.

The Chief Minister said that the number of patients referred outside the state has significantly decreased due to the development of the state's health system. The government is also planning to build more modern health institutions in the state in the future.
