CM Dr Manik Saha promotes earthen lamps; hails ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative ahead of Diwali festival

AGARTALA:

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha promoted earthen lamps in support of the Vocal for Local initiative ahead of the Diwali festival.

Dr Saha on Saturday went to Agartala Komarpara, where he brought earthen lamps and other earthen materials for the upcoming Diwali festival.

During his visit to the village, in the outskirts of Agartala, Dr Saha said, “The Vocal for Local initiative of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought smiles to many.” He said that the unorganized workers play a crucial role in growing the country’s GDP rate and enhancing the rural economy.

“Here in Tripura also we have seen how those unorganized workers benefited from the PM Vishwakarma scheme. The scheme has brought smiles to many here in our state,” he told reporters.
