Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday reviewed the preparedness of Ratha Yatra festival to be held in the state on July 7 along with the rest of the country.
During the meeting with the District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police of all the districts of the state, the Chief Minister stressed on the need to take all possible measures to restrict untoward incidents during the festival.
Chief Secretary J K Sinha, Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan and Chief Minister's Secretary Dr P K Chakraborty were present. District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police of all the districts of the state were present in this meeting held through video conference.
The Chief Minister stressed on the organizers of the Rath Yatra to follow all government policy guidelines regarding the structural height of the Rath. He also stressed on keeping all arrangements including ambulance, paramedical, volunteers, and fire fighters during the festival.
It is necessary to maintain regular coordination with the power department as per the movement of the chariot, he said, adding that the organizers of the Rath Yatra should start the Rath Yatra at the scheduled time of the day and ensure that it reaches the destination before evening.
