CM Dr Manik Saha seeks collective effort for prevention of HIV/AIDS

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Friday chaired the 18th general meeting of Tripura AIDS Control Society here at the secretariat and emphasized on the need of setting up of call centres at Tripura AIDS Control Society for periodic monitoring of HIV/AIDS patients.

Dr Saha called for a collective effort in prevention of HIV/AIDS and said, “Tripura AIDS Control Society with public representatives should undertake awareness campaign to prevent AIDS. Various social organizations of the state should be involved in the prevention of AIDS.”

In the meeting, the Chief Minister virtually inaugurated 3 Link ART Centers at Amarpur sub-divisional hospital in Gomati district, Gondatuisa sub-divisional hospital in Dhalai district and Belonia sub-divisional hospital in South Tripura district. People suffering from AIDS/HIV can get essential medicines from these centres.

After the meeting, Dr Saha flagged off a mobile ICTC van at the Secretariat and laid emphasis on creation of awareness related programmes through different media. The Chief Minister also advised the society to monitor the truck drivers especially from outside the state and check their blood to be sure about the HIV/AIDS disease.
